LAURA'S TOUCH - Italian gourmet catering - Cooking classes - TM31 consultant

From Tuscany to the Hunter Valley...

Located in Denman, New South Wales, Laura's Touch has been founded by Laura Corà Macolino and started its activity in Australia at the end of 2008.

Moving from Tuscany to the Hunter Valley , Laura found out that this wonderful land had great ingredients for her cuisine and decided that the Italian Touch could have transformed them and enhanced their flavour.
          Laura Corà Macolino
Encouraged by her husband and her friends she decided to share all her tips and started her cooking classes.
Laura's knowledge and expertise on italian cooking dates back...too long ago to be remembered! Her cuisine is simple and yet very tasty, goes back to basics  and recipes sometimes date back centuries ago.

No worries though... learning the very secrets of  Italian Cuisine is very easy and with laura it's just fun

However there were out there a few people who loved italian cuisine but preferred to be completely spoiled. Guess what? She started her catering service!  The experience acquired in her many years in Tuscany with a small restaurant in her farm, the "agriturismo", came right at hand. A  birthday party, an opening of a local shop, a Christmas party were her start, thanks to her friends who believed in and encouraged her.

Yet Laura, who's an authentic vulcano, did not stop thinking...
what about sharing her long time dearest appliance, Thermomix, with her friends?
She met Josie, the Thermomix top consultant in Australia ( who's italian...of course..) and she started working as a Thermomix consultant, eager to show what a fantastic partner in the kitchen "her" Bimby ( this is how  it's called in Italy) is.

Was she satisfied...NOOO! and after meeting Michelle Moon she decided, again, to start somethng new....

              Michelle Moon
Finding a shared passion for cooking, Italian food and culinary history brought Michelle and Laura together  as the team at Laura’s touch.

An avid cookbook collector, food writer and food historian, Michelle Moon met Laura at her Italian Christmas
cooking class and the rest is….well,  food history.
In 2006 Michelle founded the Australian Cookbook Collectors Society www.cookbookcollector.com.au  and has a collection of well over  600 cookbooks from all corners of the globe from the 1700’s up to today.

The grand-daughter of a traditional Australian pub cook, Michelle was raised on steak and kidney pudding, tripe, mashed potatoes and apple pie in Bathurst NSW and moved to the Hunter Valley to raise a family in 1997.

A 10 year career  in Sydney introduced Michelle to the cuisines and flavours from all corners of the globe, however, Italian food became a favourite when dining out and at home in the kitchen.

To finally meet a genuine Italian and spend time cooking and creating together was the fulfilment of a dream for Michelle.

With her own Thermomix,  Michelle  has also discovered a whole new world of fast, healthy cooking that  is the basis for the wonderful products produced for Laura’s Touch as well as her own family.
